Tizzard's Cue Card comments were both timely and admirable

Watching Cue Card go for home a long way out in Wetherby’s Charlie Hall was one of those “oh my god Paddy what the hell are you up to?” moments.

And it was made worse by the knowledge that Paddy Brennan will forever have at least a corner of his soul haunted by Cue Card’s fall at the third-last in the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

There is no point in telling Brennan it was not his error. He will always wonder whether he could have done anything differently and might-have-beens are corrosive things that gnaw at the mind and confidence.
