Throughout the twists and machinations of HBO's latest megabucks miniseries Westworld, viewers are left in constant flux in their quest to differentiate the good guys and girls from the bad.

Nothing wrong with shifting perceptions, especially in a drama which plays with the conventions of the western, surely the ultimate vehicle for good versus evil ever since Gary Cooper showed up at High Noon.

Westworld strikes me as a very 2016 creation, with the corporate villainy of the Delos Corporation pitted against their own creations, the automated hosts whose only destiny is supposed to be the service of others.
