Tiger's earned his stripes but Arthur's right back to his National-winning best
Our 2017 hero is flying in under the radar with a chance to make Aintree history
It's an exciting time for all of us at Arlary Stables, with the culmination of two years' planning and hard work fast approaching. It's been a fairly frustrating season to date with One For Arthur, but I think the reality of what we see at home is now ready to come to fruition on the track.
History tells us that winning two Nationals is very hard, but I really believe our 2017 winner is back to his best and going to Aintree with a realistic chance in one of my favourite races – although Tiger Roll has certainly stamped his authority on the market.
I grew up watching the Grand National and the horses who came back year after year, and I think one of the great attractions of the race is that those horses become characters rather than just horses. You knew even as a kid just how Red Rum was going to run his race, and I think what's so exciting about Tiger Roll is there's a little chance he might end up the same, that sort of characterful horse who people latch on to and who could possibly make history.
