The BHA has our interests at heart, let's get behind them

Unanimity and subjectivity rarely go hand in hand and so it sometimes is when the Professional Jockeys Association and the BHA agree to disagree over decisions made by individuals when time is deemed of the essence.

An incident on February 6 concerning young jockey Charlie Bennett was a case in point and the PJA understandably took issue with the local stewards as to the conclusion drawn and how they could have been reached.

The case was won on appeal, but this does not mean the system is flawed or anyone was at fault. There has to be opinion and I’m sure the best of intentions are always paramount. Okay the opinion was proven incorrect, but that is not the point as the appeal system dealt with it.
