It may be hard to believe, but there are positives to reflect on as we say farewell to 2020 on Thursday.

Racing has carried on despite the challenges of the pandemic, ITV's coverage continues to break records and Hollie Doyle has put the sport in the spotlight. In addition to those considerable positives, and perhaps even more crucially, it seems the allure of racehorse ownership is still capturing the imagination.

The allure is what it has to be as anyone renewing or signing up is well aware they are unlikely to get to a racecourse, while events like stable visits are a complete no-go. And this comes at a time of huge financial uncertainty when sports season tickets are suffering record low sales.
