Summer days have gone but it's not quite business as usual for the BHA

It is sad to say it but summer is over. The kids are back at school, MPs are back at Westminster and normal service is being resumed across all sorts of businesses and sectors – including, on the face of it, racing.

Last week the BHA removed a couple of items from its in-tray with the announcement of the results of its review of stewarding and the publication of its annual report for 2017.

The latter had been due out in the spring but had been delayed by the turmoil the governing body found itself in over the position of chairman Steve Harman.
