The evolving nature of Irish racing means the autumn double, comprising the Irish Cambridgeshire and the Irish Cesarewitch, does not have the strong resonance of former years.

Yet the two races still count among the most significant handicaps of the season, each carrying a €100,000 prize fund, and this year's runnings produced big-priced winners from relatively small-scale training operations.

In August Takashi Kodama won the Irish Cambridgeshire with 25-1 chance Elusive Time. On Sunday former jump jockey Harry Rogers was responsible for the identically priced Irish Cesarewitch winner Lord Erskine.
