Stephen Mahon the most unreliable of witnesses in doping saga's latest twist

Stephen Mahon's emergence as Jim Bolger's doping informant has added a dollop of fuel to the Coolcullen maestro's raging inferno.

Paul Kimmage has another instalment to come in the Sunday Independent this weekend, so we won't know the full picture for a while yet. We've been drip-fed snippets of where Kimmage and Bolger are heading, but it has been a slow tease that still leaves us with as many questions as answers.

While Kimmage's expose of Lance Armstrong banks him an amount of credit, the nagging doubt hanging over Sunday's intervention is the credibility of the source. Mahon's catalogue of misdemeanours isn't easily glossed over.
