Minella Beau carries our hopes in the big race of the weekend in Ireland, the Ladbrokes Troytown Chase at Navan on Sunday (2.30). With a full field of 25 declared it’s going to be very competitive and Gordon Elliott fields almost half of them.

We decided against declaring Pairofbrowneyes, who was favourite for the race, because he wants dig in the ground. The good ground should be fine for Minella Beau, who will be having his second run in a handicap.

He was travelling well in the Cork National on his most recent start when his lack of experience caught him out and he fell at the third last. Hopefully he will have learned from that effort and with luck in running he should represent us well in a wide open race.
