Hopes high for class quartet in John Durkan
Punchestown Sunday
The Grade 1 John Durkan Memorial Chase (1.50) is the big race of the weekend in Ireland and we're well represented with Min, who will be bidding for a second consecutive win in the race, Real Steel, Duc Des Genievres and Voix Du Reve.
Min, who put up his best performance when winning the JLT Melling Chase by 20 lengths at Aintree in April, is in good shape. He likes Punchestown and the trip and ground will be fine. So he has plenty going for him on his first start of the season.
Real Steel won very well over the trip in a Grade 2 at Down Royal last month. This will be a big step up in class for him, but he has race fitness on his side and we'll see where he fits in with the rest of the season in mind.
