Rust departure among several major shifts in racing and betting personnel
Last week's news that Nick Rust is to stand down as BHA chief executive at the end of the year rather overshadowed another significant departure from British racing's corridors of power.
Paul Fisher is to leave the Jockey Club next month having spent 19 years with the organisation, most recently in the role of chief executive of Jockey Club Racecourses, the operator of 15 tracks including Aintree, Cheltenham and Newmarket.
Fisher had been one of the leading internal candidates to succeed Simon Bazalgette as group chief executive at the Jockey Club, and the appointment of Delia Bushell to that position last year inevitably led to speculation Fisher might look for a new challenge.
