June 1 is a hugely important date for British racing with hopes high that the sport can resume that day, but June 30 could also be critical for its future.

That is the deadline for when a request to extend the current Brexit transition period must be made. If it is not and no deal is agreed, then the United Kingdom will start trading with the European Union on World Trade Organisation rules from the start of next year.

The Covid-19 crisis has dominated headlines in recent months, but the clock is still ticking on Brexit and concerns will be rising for racing's leaders in Britain, Ireland and France as time marches on given the effect a 'disorderly' Brexit would have on the sport.
