The Oaks and Derby taking place in front of largely empty stands at Epsom was one very obvious consequence of the Covid-19 crisis for British racing last weekend.

There was another example of the impact the pandemic has had on the sport in the last few days, although it has been rather overshadowed by the fantastic action on the track at Epsom and Sandown.

Nevertheless, it is an important event and one that the sport needs to deal with carefully.
