Covid-19 outbreak among US jockeys shows why we have to stay so patient here

It may be tempting fate, but British racing can give itself a collective pat on the back for the way it has got the show back on the road uninterrupted since its resumption from lockdown on June 1.

With the exception of Leicester's meeting at the end of June, which went ahead without stalls handlers following a local lockdown, the sport has so far managed to navigate the challenges created by the coronavirus without major disruption to the reorganised fixture list.

That has not been the case in all racing jurisdictions, the most high-profile being in the United States in recent days.
