It's not just racing - the whole of Ireland is being hamstrung by our government

Rarely has the chasm between various international Covid-19 policies been more starkly illustrated than it was on the respective front pages of Tuesday’s Racing Post in Britain and Ireland.

Evocatively, the story confirming an imminent return of paying customers at English racecourses was depicted with an image of patrons pouring across Sandown into a busy grandstand, a picture that in peace time would not elicit a giddy collective squeal.

This time it did, and it was audible on this side of the Irish Sea as we plunged further into the abyss.
