Will exciting chaser's followers have their faith rewarded?
Bandwagons are curious things. There is a certain warmth to be found on them because, by definition, everyone has leapt aboard for very similar reasons which produces a sense of fellowship and, in the case of a rising star in racing, the bond of shared financial risk.
But jumping aboard a bandwagon carries several risks – when they get overcrowded they can run away and sometimes those aboard acquire a touch of tunnel vision.
Might Bite's RSA victory at the Cheltenham Festival was the very stuff of unscriptable drama. He veered violently into the Guinness tent after the last but the stuff is evidently good for you and somehow he pulled a last-gasp victory from the wreckage.
