Peter Greaves was a pioneer and a true friend to racing

I send the very sad news that Peter Greaves has recently died. Peter was a passionate racegoer and lover of horses who was cruelly struck down with MS over 30 years ago.

Far from letting his disability curb his enthusiasm for racing, he instead found a new purpose in life. Peter channelled his passion for the sport into a crusade to improve disabled facilities at racecourses.

Starting with the first of several interviews on Channel 4 Racing to raise awareness of this issue, he and I then travelled far and wide to British tracks over 34 years, meeting officials and making recommendations for improvements.
