'Piegate' may have earned online betting company Sun Bets some much needed publicity but their rivals are unlikely to be appreciative of the consequences of their coup.

Sutton United's former reserve goalkeeper Wayne Shaw and his epicurean preferences will soon be a footnote to the current football season but betting operators may find the Gambling Commission is not minded to let the matter drop off the agenda so easily.

Novelty bets such as the one Sun Bets offered on Shaw eating a pie during last week's FA Cup tie with Arsenal have been on the commission's radar for a while.
