No regrets from Giles Bravery after packing in training after 30-year career

Former trainer Giles Bravery is dealing with a different type of horsepower since quitting the Newmarket ranks in 2017 – that of his very own transit van in his role as a self-employed delivery driver.

It may be something of a comedown for the privately educated 57-year-old, but he insists he is more upmarket than the average 'white van man' and is significantly better off financially than when he was training.

Bravery, who trained more than 150 winners and is best known for winning the Group 2 Cherry Hinton Stakes with Torgau in 1999, does not recall any one significant event that made him hand his licence in two years ago.
