The National Association of Racing Staff and its members would like to wish all of racing’s participants a happy and prosperous new year.

My members’ new year’s resolutions are to work hard, to provide the best care and attention to the horses we love and to continue to put the show on the road come rain, hail, shine, or Christmas.

To the owners who are responsible for buying the horses and paying the training fees, we say thank you. Enjoy your victories when they come along because we understand they mean so much to you (and they don’t come along often enough), but if you really want to lead your horse into the winner’s enclosure then please show the grooms the respect they deserve before you take control of a half-ton of racehorse.
