Former airline pilot Dylan Cunha is ready for take-off as the latest addition to the Newmarket training community and the South African is hoping to hit the ground running in the next two weeks.

As career paths go, Cunha's route is as complex as the flight plans he used to follow flying 737s out of Cape Town until 2020, when the Covid pandemic grounded all flights.

Now the 42-year-old has a different licence after completing all his BHA training modules, although he is actually going full circle as he started out as a stable lad in Newmarket with Robert Armstrong in the 1990s.
