McCoy and Hughes out of luck in football awards as Champion Chase veteran scores

An important event in the West Berkshire sporting and social calendar took place last Thursday and, for a moment, it looked like Freddie Tulloch had pushed the boat out by booking Racing TV's Jess Stafford for the annual East Garston FC awards night.
The ceremony, to give it a grander description, took place at the village's Queens Arms, which Tulloch owns with wife Sue, and despite the presence of Stafford, who was in fact enjoying supper, the landlord compered proceedings himself.
Tulloch, whose parents were involved in 1985 Hennessy Gold Cup hero Galway Blaze, allows a host of racing personalities to churn up his front lawn on most Sunday mornings in the name of sporting excellence.
