You could not accuse the organisers of the Bahrain International Trophy of not doing enough for their guests during the lead-up to last Friday's marquee race for the burgeoning racing nation.

Given their eagerness to promote not only horseracing in Bahrain but the country itself as a viable tourist destination, connections were treated to various drinks and dinner receptions, a day on the golf course and even an evening of drag-racing entertainment at the nearby Formula One circuit.

Officials at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club were keen to ensure those who flew out for the full four-day experience, including Richard Fahey and Charlie Hills, left with tales of positivity as they aimed to continue the growth of the International Trophy in its third year.
