One of the objections raised by those who disagree with the decision of the Killarney stewards is that similar incidents are not addressed with the same rigour on a routine basis in Irish racing.

That is a valid point, but it doesn't make the decision to void this particular race wrong. Under the current rules, it was absolutely the right judgement.
