Recently Racing Post TV made a 15-minute film of an ageing punter and Friar Tuck lookalike – your columnist – driving across the Cotswolds to Cheltenham from his home village.

This epic – inexplicably shot too late for this year's Oscars – has proved something of a success with some 7,000 hits on a platform called YouPube and more than 45,000 views on another modern techno-hub rejoicing in the name of Facepaint or some such.
