Jets and PJA deserve praise for addressing difficult issues
The release on Monday of the latest in the Jockey Matters series of videos produced by the Jockeys Employment and Training Scheme (Jets) and the Professional Jockeys Association (PJA) was a timely one.
Coinciding with World Mental Health Day, it sought to heighten awareness of mental health issues eloquently described by jockey Mark Enright, with contributions from the likes of Sir Tony McCoy and Michael Caulfield.
This is the second issue dealt with by the series, with the first a three-part section on nutrition and weight loss. It highlights how the PJA and Jets are working increasingly closely and effectively to constructively address issues that have often been hidden within the confines of the weighing room.
