ITV Racing's Oli Bell joins our expert panel to discuss the big races
Can anything beat Pinatubo in the 2,000 Guineas?
Oli Bell, ITV Racing presenter It goes without saying he's incredibly talented, but there are a few questions for Pinatubo to answer. Namely, has he trained on from two to three? If he has, he will win. I believe Kameko, winner of the Vertem Futurity last season for Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy, looks like his biggest danger.
Richard Birch, tipster Yes. Pinatubo was an outstanding two-year-old, but he must prove that he has trained on. Many remarked about his lack of physical scope last year and it wouldn't be the biggest shock of all time if we have already seen the best of him; not all champion two-year-olds train on. Kameko looks just the type to improve significantly at three, and 7-1 is a cracking price.
Charles Hitchings, Sporting Index It will obviously be a tall order for anything to get the better of the impressive Pinatubo. However, there is always a chance that one of the colts significantly steps up on their form as a three-year-old. I think our new brand ambassador Frankie Dettori may have bagged himself a great spare ride. Wichita didn't go in the ground in the Dewhurst and may be the value here.
