Irish racing has its share of characters but there can be few more likeable than Paul Nolan. As personable as he is witty, Nolan is out on his own when it comes to cracking jokes, but don't let his persona fool you – he's a serious horseman who knows exactly what he's doing.

Nolan has had plenty to smile about this season; there have been 24 winners sent out from his Toberona Stables in County Wexford already.

That's the joint-best tally the yard has managed in the last decade, having saddled 24 winners in the entire 2013-14 season, so chances are Nolan will beat that and possibly even break into the 30s.
