It's 'about' time Irish racing pulled its finger out and joined the modern age

My first and only exchange with At The Races analyst Simon Rowlands was via Twitter last February. The tweet read: "Christ, that's several shades of s***e from David Jennings in today's Racing Post."

Rowlands was reacting to a column I had penned on Cyrname, in which I suggested he had not earned the right to be called the best horse in our sport and his mark at the time of 176 was unjustified.

When someone replied to Rowlands wondering what the column was about, he replied: "Stuff about ratings and analysis in which he [me] makes it abundantly clear he does not understand the subject. It's the kind of superficial crap you expect to read on here [Twitter]."
