Ireland is having a shocker in British Grade 1 races - so what's going wrong?

This weekend feels a bit like the end of an episode of Bullseye. You know the bit where Jim Bowen tells the contestants they would have won a speedboat if they had managed to hit 101 between them with six darts in their quest for Bully's star prize, but they bring home a tankard instead.

Here is what we could have won this weekend: Energumene v Edwardstone at Ascot, Epatante v I Like To Move It at Haydock, Frodon v Quick Wave at Taunton, and some tasty enough stuff at Navan.

Now we have to keep everything crossed that Haydock manages to stay above zero on Friday night, or else we will win a tankard full of all-weather action at Lingfield instead.
