Whether or not you are a fan of the Flat jockeys' championship in Britain ending on Saturday, this year's winner has been the very definition of a champion.

William Buick switched agents to Tony Hind three years ago with the sole aim of becoming champion jockey and, after a couple of near-misses, he will enjoy his crowning moment on Saturday after utterly dominating this year's competition.

Two seasons ago Buick lost out by eight winners to Oisin Murphy. Last season he pushed the same rival to the last day of the season at Ascot before coming up just two winners short.
