How Keith Donoghue's world came full circle after Gigginstown 'disgrace' rant

The universe has been working in unusual ways of late and the big race at Down Royal last Saturday was yet another transcript from the pages of pure fantasy.

This has got nothing to do with The Storyteller. He was race-fit, coming off a career-best effort at Punchestown and was only 9-2. The real story was the guy who rode him.

To fully appreciate how far Keith Donoghue has come, we must first rewind to the same fixture seven years earlier. After filing my report on what was then the JNwine.com Champion Chase, intrigue got the better of me so I got in touch with the teenager who was supposed to have ridden the winner, Roi Du Mee.
