Anyone who knows Charlie Mann will be aware of his cavalier spirit so, even at the age of 64, he was never going to turn down the opportunity to throw his leg over jump racing's hottest property.

Inspired by former amateur rider and Daily Telegraph journalist Marcus Armytage, who recently partnered Unibet Champion Hurdle favourite Constitution Hill, Mann also put the exceptional six-year-old through his paces on Saturday morning.

"I thought if Marcus can ride him, I'll get on him!" Mann said this week.
