After a troubled week or two, what better way to get into the mood for December 25 than hearing about a Christmas miracle in the heart of Lincolnshire?

Actually, that should be December 26, when a modern Saint Nicholas comes to the rescue of the biggest day of the year at Market Rasen.

The Lincolnshire National is a seasonal highlight which can have 9,000 souls deserting the sales and the turkey leftovers. No-one was present last year for a behind-closed-doors running, which also lacked a sponsor, with long-term backer Clugston having hit hard times.
