Not to be haunted by another equine flu outbreak, Nicky Henderson gives three-quarters of his string jabs in preparation for the spring festivals, reasoning he doesn't want to get caught behind the 8-ball against chief rival Paul Nicholls.
"It makes sense," says Seven Barrows' head honcho as he jets off to the Caribbean for a January break, when he bumps into Nicholls in the foyer of their Barbados hotel.
A sun-burned Henderson is beaming as stable ace Altior takes the step up to three miles in his stride with a smooth success in February's Betfair Denman Chase at Newbury, which tees up the son of High Chaparral for a Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup bid in March.
