The Newmarket training grounds are likely to be enhanced next year with the extension of a key gallop, which will help to take the pressure off the Warren Hill exercise area.

Such is the demand for the facilities on the famous uphill Bury Side landmark from February until October many strings regularly make long treks across town from Racecourse Side to use them, including those of Simon and Ed Crisford, David Simcock and James Tate.

Part of the reason is that opportunities for cantering uphill are strictly limited on Racecourse Side, but plans are well advanced to address the issue by extending an existing all-weather facility.
