Fresh BoyleSports deal could start a TRP domino effect
The St Leger meeting is Arena Racing Company's biggest week of the year, but it might be that the most significant news for the racecourse group happened a couple of days before the action started at Doncaster.
Arc and seven of the smaller independent tracks launched a third betting shop pictures provider called The Racing Partnership (TRP) at the start of the month, joining SIS and TurfTV in that marketplace.
There is less than four months to go until the first six TRP tracks leave the SIS stable, including Lingfield, Southwell and Wolverhampton, but the major retail bookmakers have yet to sign up, thanks in part to factors such as the authorised betting partner policy Arc was instrumental in introducing, while Coral and Ladbrokes' attention is focused on their forthcoming merger.
