Racing industries across the globe seem to be facing tough times at the moment, whether they be reputational, financial or both.

The debate about racehorse welfare in Britain is nothing compared to the crisis which has hit California and the wider United States industry following the equine fatalities at Santa Anita, while Australia has had its own bombshell with the TV exposé of the treatment of ex-racehorses in a Queensland abattoir.
