Fancy arriving at the races in style? Newmarket tour company has just the thing
If you see a London black cab at Newmarket's July festival this week, don't try to flag it down. It's not a taxi; it's just the latest innovation from Discover Newmarket.
The iconic cab has been used for private trips for customers by the tour company during the past month and has already proved a big hit in the town. The vehicle has proved popular with overseas visitors, many of whom travel to Newmarket from London during the season.
The cab, which holds five people, is popular for smaller groups who would otherwise have to rattle around in a big bus and has already been hired out for two of the three days at the July festival. The company also intends to bring it on to the July course on Thursday, when it will be located near the Grandstand and Paddock entrance and form part of the backdrop to the 'Style Awards' on ladies' day.
