Falling attendances: Five reasons why fewer people are going to the races

It was recently reported (January 24) that the Racecourse Association were disappointed with the continued drop in attendances.

This seems to suggest they are not in touch with the reality and the feelings of regular racegoers. The answer for them is to promote advanced ticket sales. For what? Saturdays and festival meetings will always be well attended without them.

Due to past policies from racing’s rulers, along with TV saturation, racecourses will continue to see a decline in attendances until there is change.
