There was an amazing meeting at Newmarket last week. Top people had come from all over the world and the message afterwards was of the opportunities for young and old that racing offers from its involvement with the horse.

That's what hooked me from the beginning. I have been blessed that horses have been at the heart of my life since I was a child, and the contribution they have made to me is immeasurable.

I feel very privileged that I came from a family steeped in horses. Growing up, the responsibility and commitment they require gave me a structure and a discipline that I really needed to keep me on the straight and narrow.
