Sunday’s absorbing Hatton’s Grace Hurdle dust-up between Apple’s Jade and Vroum Vroum Mag really was something to savour, regardless of the various subplots at play in relation to the respective trainers and owners.
With Airlie Beach extending her unbeaten sequence to seven in the Royal Bond, it was an illustrious afternoon at Fairyhouse for the female of the equine species. All three mares’ contributions added immensely to the day’s vibe, not least because they were produced in races of merit.
