Gordon Elliott really is some man.

In a little more than a decade with a licence he has won the Grand National twice, masterminded a Gold Cup success, been the leading trainer at consecutive Cheltenham Festivals and become the first Irish handler to saddle 200 winners in a season.

The 40-year-old panel-beater's son is the closest thing we have seen to Jim Bolger in terms of being a self-made man whose talent, vision and enterprise have seen him seriously upset the established order.
