It was a sparkling way to start a training career, even if Diamond Harry did somewhat overshadow it.

On a November day in 2010 when that fine chaser was winning the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury, Ed Walker saddled his first runner – Riggins in Kempton's Listed Hyde Stakes – and the gelding dead-heated to get the new trainer off to a flyer.

Walker has made Lambourn his home after relocating from Newmarket and has established a productive business that has churned out more than half a century of winners for the last four campaigns.
