Dunlop bows out but famous name will remain to the fore

The doors to Harry Dunlop’s stables in Upper Lambourn closed on Tuesday after his final runner last week, but he will not be lost to racing and the family's involvement in the sport will live on.

Dunlop's late father John was champion trainer in 1995, while his brother Ed is also training horses with great distinction.

The 46-year-old is set to remain in racing and has dipped into the sales, buying stock for his sibling and former Lambourn counterpart Tom Ward, while his sons Tom and William are also itching to get involved in the sport. Both have helped out with the wheeling and dealing while also eyeing up careers in the saddle.
