Deal to show ITV output is a vital boost for Irish viewers
It might be the quietest week on the racing calendar, but confirmation that TV3 has committed to showing ITV's new racing output on its terrestrial channels has done wonders for the festive spirits.
More than ever before this sport needs the exposure mainstream television brings, and we shouldn't underestimate the importance of the best British racing being readily accessible to Irish viewers.
Sure, some of it might be broadcast as secondary output on 3e, but it is vital the marquee cross-channel events are part of the everyday conversation here.
