Dancing Star in strong position to carry on family tradition

Memories of Lochsong's blazing Stewards' Cup success will be evoked this afternoon if Jeff Smith's three-year-old Dancing Star speeds to victory in this year's running of one of the great spectacles of the summer calendar.
Lochsong was four when, in 1992, the Goodwood sprint provided the first leg of her record-breaking Stewards', Portland and Ayr Gold Cup treble, and she also features distantly in Dancing Star's pedigree.
Only getting into the race by virtue of the penalty picked up at Newmarket, Dancing Star has already won over course and distance and deserves to be at the head of the market. She should also get a nice trail in off Red Pike, who looks likely to go well for in-form Bryan Smart.
