On Wednesday the BHA is publishing its review of fatalities at the Cheltenham Festival. The report is the result of an exhaustive and extremely thorough process carried out by a review group who have worked tirelessly and with great commitment. It is also the product of conversations with a wide number of stakeholders and I am grateful to everyone who has contributed.

The report maps out a number of recommendations which we believe will make racing at the festival safer. Some will, hopefully, have an immediate impact, and others will build on and add to that impact in the longer term.

However, what this process has also shown us is that this review is, actually, about so much more than just Cheltenham and the festival. It is about all of jump racing and our sport as a whole.
