Britain is right to ban some Irish horses - which is why I helped make it happen
The Racing League is back and it's better but still not for me.
Please understand that I wish it no harm. I'm not like one of those Test cricket devotees who considers The Hundred to be some sort of devil child. I applaud the Racing League organisers for making positive changes since its first attempt and would be thrilled if it attracts a vast number of new fans to the sport.
We're all creatures filled with contradictions. I very much enjoy the Shergar Cup, and did so again on Saturday, but fail to find the same sort of enthusiasm for the Racing League. What's so special about the Ascot jamboree is it brings to Britain some international riding stars we otherwise might not see from one year to the next. It has a unique selling point that, to my taste, is extremely attractive.
