There were better-quality performances to savour over the course of Newmarket's July meeting, but how good was it to see old favourite Bless Him bag the Bunbury Cup on Saturday?
David Simcock's stalwart is a thoroughly likeable operator, and his style of racing enables old ally Jamie Spencer to be at his brilliant, sniper-like best at the death.
The pair's greatest hits are well worth watching back through Bless Him's profile on racingpost.com, especially his smooth-as-silk victory over Lord North at Ascot in 2019.
